Kálmán Révay (1911-1950)

A professional army officer, he took part in the resistance in 1944, for which he was condemned to death, but had his sentence reduced to ten years. In 1947, he became the first commanding officer of the Kossuth Military Academy, and in 1949, chief of armoured troops. He was arrested on fabricated charges in 1950, condemned to death and executed. He was partly rehabilitated posthumously in 1954 and absolved of all charges in 1990.
